Dr. Jagdev Sharma

 

Sr. Scientist (Soil Science)

Ph.D. (1995) Soil Science, Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Dr. Jagdev Sharma has experience in soil fertility, irrigation techniques and plant nutrition. He worked on Preparation and utilization of Phospho-compost from rock phosphate in Ph.D. and on Long Term Fertilizer Experiments for more than two years. Presently he is working on developing petiole nutrient guides, fertigation scheduling,  irrigation scheduling, techniques to improve water use efficiency  nutritional disorders and  salinity management in grapes.

His salient research achievements at NRC grapes are

  • Identified the causes of inward leaf curling disorders

  • Standardised irrigation schedule for grapes

  • Standardised irrigation schedule for grapes

  • Methods for improving water use efficiency in grapes

  • Diagnosis of causes of black leaf disorder in grapes under saline irrigation

  • Diagnosis of nutrient imbalance in Thompson Seedless grapes
