Name of PI with associates
Dr. Indu S. Sawant, Principal Scientist (Plant Pathology)
Dr. S.D. Sawant, Principal Scientist (Plant Pathology)
Dr. G.S. Karibasappa, Principal Scientist (Horticulture)
Mrs. Kavita Y. Mundankar, Scientist SS (Computer Applications)
Objectives:
To confirm the pathogen(s) of the anthracnose disease.
To study the morphological, molecular and pathological diversity in the pathogen.
To study the Host-Pathogen-Environment interaction in field.
To identify potential bio-control agents & new generation fungicides.
To develop technologies for producing disease free planting material.
To identify anthracnose resistant / tolerant germplasm.
To identify anthracnose resistant / tolerant germplasm.
Duration:
1 June 2009 to 31 December 2014
Highlights:
The project aims at generating information on the anthracnose pathogen(s), the diversity within the organism, its epidemiology, survival and sensitivity to new generation fungicides and common bio-control agents. It will also identify the soruces of resistance in grape germplasm at NRCG. The project will result in ways to manage the disease more effectively in vineyards and nursery; technology to production anthrocnose free planting material; and to identify sources of resistance in germplasm..
Total outlay: Rs. 110.35 lakhs
