Objectives:
- To develop petiole nutrient guides for Cabernet Sauvignon vines raised on Dogridge rootstock
Duration:
1 April 2008 to 30 June 2014
Highlights:
At present the wine grapes are being fertilized arbitrarily and no petiole norms re available for foundation pruning under Indian conditions where the vines are pruned twice a year. Sampling stage for the wine grapes and the leaf position at that stage needs to be standardised during foundation pruning to study the nutritional status of the vines in relation to productivity and wine grape quality. The nutrient norms will be derived for both macro and micronutrients for foundation and fruit pruning seasons. The fertility gradient with respect to different nutrients will be created at the research farm of NRC for Grapes, Pune to record data.
