  • Post harvest management of grapes

  • Value addition and product diversification

  • Yeast strains and winemaking

Current Research Areas:

  • Minimization of browning in raisins

  • Standardization of crop load in relation to red wine quality

  • Locally identified yeast strains and their effect on wine quality

Yeast stains:

Information of locally identified yeast strains viz.; RS-2 and RS-3 belong to Pichia kudriavzevii (Issatchenkia orientalis) having bases of 1-531 was submitted to NCBI. NCBI released he information on 21st Nov 2011 as

Abroad Trainings

  • Attended “X SERIES 2 ICP-MS operators training course” at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Bremen, Germany from June 14th -21st, 2009.

  • Attended the training on “Fermentation technology in horticulture (wine making)” under the HRD programme of NAIP at Research Centre Geisenheim (Forschungsanstalt Geisenheim), Germany from October 1st – December 31st, 2009.
